It is with great sadness that our brother, Armando Vasquez passed away today at 7:10am.

Accompanied with a former player that Armando coached, we had the opportunity to see him last Sunday at St. Luke's hospital. He was extremely week yet truly a fighter to the end. Although we will miss him, it was time for Armando to join his Negro League brothers in Heaven...Dihigo, Gibson, Paige and every player who because of the color of their skin DIDN'T get the opportunity to play in the Major Leagues...But if you asked Armando he would have told you they were the minors and the Negro Leagues were the MAJORS."
